BSc Nursing
Objectives
To instil and develop an aptitude for nursing, to provide necessary knowledge and skills among the students.
To develop skills in recognizing and interpreting physical mental and emotional manifestation of illness and be able to plan individual nursing care to patients based on their individual needs using nursing process.
To practice and inculcate ethical value and moral principles in their personal and professional life involved in the practice of nursing.
To encourage and help the students to participate in various health related programmes in hospitals and community.
To help the students to recognize the need for continued learning for their personal and professional development.
Basic Requirements for Admission
Candidates should have passed +2 or any other equivalent examinations and should have taken science subjects.
Candidates belonging to all categories except SC/ST should have obtained 60% marks taken together in the Science subjects alone.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST should have obtained 50% marks in the aggregate marks in Science subjects.
Medical Certificate
Physical fitness must be ensured by a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
Age limit
Candidates should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December.
Curriculum
The curriculum and the syllabus for the course shall be as prescribed by The TN Dr MGR Medical University and Indian nursing council from time to time.
Medium of Instruction
English will be the medium of instruction for all the subjects.
